It is not unusual for President Obama to play loose with the facts or to outright lie in a speech or a press conference. Democrats have the luxury of being able to tell tall tales without reprisal from the major media. The major media have their own “shield of protection” from accusations of bias when they fail to examine Democrats’ statements - the so-called fact check outlets. We read or hear a claim from a politician which we suspect is hyperbole or perhaps a fabrication, so we run to our favorite fact checker to get the “truth.” The problem is, if we take the word of a website such as FactCheck.org, Politifact or Snopes, we are likely receiving a Left-leaning politically slanted answer.
Politifact is the most blatantly biased of the fact checkers, followed closely by FactCheck.org, then Snopes. The most accurate and least Democrat-friendly of the fact check sites appears to be truthorfiction.com.
